About Karen

For the first 18 years of my life I lived in Africa...15 of those years were spent in the small country of Liberia.  It was a wonderful life and I'm thankful every day that my parents answered the call to serve God in Africa.  Not only did I have a wonderful childhood, but I learned so many valuable lessons about serving and being a servant.  My parents personified the word 'servant' and I hope that I inherited at least some of that.

For the past 25 years I have been a stay-at-home mom and have loved every minute of it!  Now that my kids are grown and my baby is heading off to college its time for me to find a new calling.  Since I have always enjoyed baking pies for friends and family, I have decided to share my love of pies with all of you.  I decided to start selling pies a couple of years ago when I needed to supplement my income while I spent the majority of my time caring for my Dad (Pete) who was suffering from Parkinson's Disease...thus the name Pies For Pete's Sake.  The Lord took my Daddy to heaven in February of 2011 and since then I have been exploring ways of expanding this business. This blog is one way of keeping all of you up to date on what's happening in my world and in the world of pies.  Enjoy!!
